"First of all I was impressed with the invite via the internet and the updates I received. I also was happy that I was one of the selected volunteers to assist in welcoming and directing the other guest during the event.

The presenters were right on task, and their being of African American decent, well,  I could relate to them and their subject matter.  I came away more knowledgeable on how to talk with my primary care physician, questions to ask and what to insist on, and how urgent it is that I begin and stick to a health program for my self if I intend to live longer. I am 75 years old and not ready to leave this world.  I have a new granddaughter that will be 1 year old on March 18 and I would like to be around to see her graduate from high school, maybe college.

I have told several of my friends about the workshop and they were so sorry they missed the event.  I will be encouraging them to take better care of themselves so we can continue to live our best lives.

"I can't tell you how much this event meant to me.  Not only didn't I know what cardiometabolic disease was, I never even heard of it before receiving information on your conference.  While I consider myself reasonably well informed, there was so much I did not know about my health, risks to my health and how to make changes to live a healthier life.  The February 21 conference was wonderful and the presenters outstanding.  Thank you so very much for bringing this event to our community."
